My mom was gracious enough to bless us with her presence this weekend.  She gets the itch to see them at least once a month and since it’s been a month since we were home in NC, she decided to make the trek up here.  Unfortunately, Poppy (my dad) and Unnie (my brother) had to stay behind and hold down the fort so they weren’t able to make the trip, too.

We had a fun time and Mia and Nana spent yesterday having a fun girls’ day of bowling, shopping, and buying a huge play bouncy ball that is going to be the death of me if it’s kicked inside the house one more time.  (sidenote:  it’s one of those really large plastic-y balls thats a good 18 inches in diameter and with the slightest kick, it goes soaring through the air.  I will let you finish the thought with what happens to picture frames and lamps after that…)

Anyway.  We have fallen in love with Sunday brunch at Bluegrass Country Club so we decided to take Nana today before she had to fly out.  In case you were wondering, Brunch didn’t let us down and I think mom could have opened her pocketbook and stuffed a few of the crepes for the trip home.  She said they were absolutely delish!  After brunch, we took a quick moment outside for a few pictures of Nana and the girls.  Have you ever heard a photographer say that their own children are the worst to photograph?  Well, I’m here to tell you that is the honest to goodness truth.  Oh, did I mention I have proof??

Here you go.  In all of it’s unedited glory.  Please take note of the little mama (AKA: Mia) and the little diva (Elaina) not wanting to have her picture taken.  She is a total mama’s girl and needs to be attached to my hip at all times.  Have I also mentioned that I even booked another local photographer to take my own children’s pictures this summer?  Yes.I.did.  The fantabulous Angela Crutcher of Angela Crutcher Photography will have the honor of roping my twosome while I sit back and smile and enjoy the time.  Good luck, Angela!   Here’s what you’re working with.
