Welcome!

Welcome to my site! Kick back, grab a cup of your favorite brew, and stay a while!

When my husband and I were dating, the term "Real Promise" was created. It was our personal way of making sure the other person knew what had been said was honest and true. My Real Promise to you is that, as your photographer, I will capture moments in time that you will cherish forever. We will laugh, dance, and have a great ol' time... whatever it takes to get some killer portraits you will want to stare at forever.

If you are interested in a booking a session or are looking for more information, please use the Contact Me tab above. I will get back in touch with your shortly.

Paper | Hendersonville TN Senior Photographer

Saturday, February 5th, 2011

This week, the theme is Paper. I got quite the kick out of this week because while the majority of the north is covered in a blanket of white, for once this winter, Tennessee is not. I think we’ve gotten snow once a week since mid-December.

For my Paper this week, I decided to think outside of the box. Instead of a pile of snowballs, we’ve got paper snowballs in our house. How else do you use and recycle the torn tissue paper from the Valentine’s gifts that are arriving from family? Snowball fight, anyone?

Obsession | Hendersonville TN Senior Photographer

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

This week, our focus for our My World, Your World was Obsession.  I toyed around with what to photograph this week.  Would I photograph the nightly piece of chocolate I crave, or the sweet tea I will have panic attacks without, or the countless other things I obsess about?  Instead, I decided this week wouldn’t be about ME, but about my girls.

Anyone that knows my girls knows that we don’t travel (or sleep, or walk, or play for that matter) without our beloved Piggies.  Piggy was given to Mia before her birth by Hubby’s aunt.  It was a beautiful pink color and was so incredibly plush.  Now, by nature, we are not stuffed animal people but I was immediately drawn to the sweetness of this particular one.  When Mia was a few months old, she was upset one day and I remember giving her Piggy to hold on to.  She couldn’t have been more than 4 months old at the time.  From that moment on, Piggy has been in her arms.  I have a picture of her sleeping with Piggy in choke hold at 9 months and we even lost a piggy at Concord Mills one time.  (We did go back and rescue him out of “lost prison” for the record).

When Elaina was born, naturally, she was drawn to Piggy as well.  We now own about 6 different Piggies.  Luckily, neither girl cares much which Piggy they have, although some of the more ratty ones are now tossed to the side.  I’ve sewn heads back into place, replaced stuffing, and stitched holes.  I’m sure those aren’t the last holes I’ll repair.  So here you go, an obsession in our household:  Piggy

I should mention that while trying my best to snap this picture last night, Elaina kept running over and snatching a Piggy.  She would run off laughing and it was a miracle I was able to grab these three at one time! :)

Guilt | Nashville Hendersonville TN Senior Photographer

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

It’s that time of the week again.  You know, where I post Kelsey and my diptych.  This week, our word was:

Guilt:

noun, a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some offense, crime, wrong, etc., whether real or imagined.

I think as human beings, we always feel guilt about something, be it something we ate that we shouldn’t have, something we said, something we didn’t do, etc.  This week was perfect for me.  Since moving to Tennessee, I’ve worked really hard to hit the ground running with my business.  I gave up a great job that I was really good at, and took a leap of faith.  By doing that, I have worked endless hours marketing, taking phone calls, returning emails, more marketing, and the list goes on and on.  I feel super guilty every day that I spend so much time attached to technology (usually in the wee hours of the morning– I’m a night owl) but I know that it will pay off in the end!  Check out Kelsey Anderson {Las Vegas Wedding Photographer} to see what her guilty pleasure is.

Resolution | Nashville Hendersonville TN Photographer

Friday, January 7th, 2011

For 2011, I’m taking part in a My World/Your World project.  Basically, we are given a new word every week and we have to photograph that word using our own interpretation.  At the end of the week, our images will be shown side by side in a diptych.  Pretty cool, huh?

This week’s word:

Resolution:

noun, a resolve or determination

I tried really hard to think of what my resolution would be this year.  Sure, I have a few things I’d like to improve on: spending more family time, taking more pictures for ME, and reading more but this year, I’m determined hold myself to my biggest resolution:  get back into my jeans.  We just moved into our new house and I sat looking at the boxes upon boxes of clothes that I love….and can’t wear.  I decided to unpack my jeans and put them on the top shelf in my closet so they are the first thing I see when I walk in the door.  Nothing says motivation like seeing something daily you can’t have.  So, there you have it.  My resolution for 2011.  Hold me to it.

My partner for this project is the beautiful Kelsey Anderson of Kelsey Anderson Photography (Las Vegas Engagement Photographer).  So, here are our images, side by side, of our own interpretation of Resolution.  To see the meaning behind her picture, check out her blog by clicking above.
