Noah | Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Friday, January 21st, 2011

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Noah today.  Let me tell you all about him.  He’s beautiful and has a head full of awesome black hair.  I love babies with hair because I only birth bald ones.  I love me some bald ones, don’t get me wrong, but I’m so intrigued by babies with hair because it’s not the norm in my household.  I’m still waiting on my 16 month old to grow some.

Noah was so well behaved.  The only peep he made all day was when I tried to put a hat on him.  He let it be known there will be no hats covering that head full of hair!  We got some great shots and it is my pleasure to show 11 day old Noah off to the world!  Congrats and welcome to the world, baby!

We’ve gone digital! | Nashville Hendersonville TN Photographer

Monday, October 25th, 2010

Yup, you heard right!  We’ve decided to go digital.  Digital images, that is.  It’s all the rave and many clients have asked for it so who are we to deny happiness to our clients?!  Please visit our Investment tab under Clients at the top of the page to see our updated prices.  All sessions come complete with a disk of fully edited images for you to print as much as your heart desires.

A few questions have been asked about this so I thought I would take the opportunity to answer them.

Q: Will you still offer prints?

A: We sure will!  We know many clients still wish to have the professional prints that still stand out against any typical prints.  They are Lustre sprayed, which protects them from finger prints and UV rays, thus preserving them even longer.  They also come with a professional linen texture, which gives them that WOW factor.

Q: Can you recommend a lab where I can print images myself?

A: You bet!  We highly recommend steering clear of any one-hour photo lab or big chain labs like pharmacies or chain stores.  Our photos have been edited on a color calibrated monitor, thus ensuring perfect coloring in every image and most of the time those labs do not uphold our images to those standards.  This is why many photographers charge the big bucks for those digital images.  We want our photos that are on display in your home for all to see to convey what our business is about and that’s quality.  We know if you respect our work enough to trust us with your family/child/newborn photographs, you will use a reputable lab to uphold the quality with which we would print your images.  With that being said, I recommend printing through Mpix (www.mpix.com).

Q: Can I upload these images for the world to see on Facebook?

A: We are thrilled that you love your photographs so much that you want everyone to see them!  That is what this business is about.  As a courtesy, we will provide you with a low-resolution watermarked digital image for you to show off your photos in their own gallery.  This cuts down on the uploading time since these are smaller files and in return, we ask that you give credit to Real Promises Photography and add a link to our website.  The best marketing is you!

Q: Since we bought the digital images, can I send them to my cousin Tina to edit them on her cool new Photoshop program?

A: You would be surprised how often this question comes up.  When you purchase the digital images, Real Promises Photography still retains the copyright to the photograph.  We are simply signing a print release to you, the client, allowing you to print them yourself.  It is against the law to edit, crop, scan, copy, or alter any of our images.  So, in short, the answer is no.  No matter how awesome your cousin Tina’s Photoshop skills are, they are not to be used on our photos. :)

————–

Thank you to everyone for your outpouring of support!  Our business wouldn’t thrive if it wasn’t for you.  Now, go check out those new prices and remind your friends and family that we are offering FREE sessions through December.  We still have a few openings, since we are only taking a limited number.

Avery | Nashville Newborn Photographer

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Avery was a wonderful newborn.  With her beautiful head full of hair and siblings in tow, she was so calm from the get go.  I admire her parents, too.  They are the proud parents of 6 children ages 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and now a newborn.  How’s that for a house full?  I’m always so amazed at how such large families have the best behaved children.  The K Family was no different.  Now, onto the baby lust.

3 Months | Hendersonville TN Baby Photographer

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

This past weekend, I got to meet up with the G Family again to take Mr. O’s 3 Month portraits.  You may remember him from this adorable newborn. It’s amazing how fast little ones grow in just 3 short months!

The G Family have purchased a Baby Plan so you will see much more of Mr. O in months to come.  I’m so excited that they chose me to capture the memories.

It was so incredibly hot during this shoot.  Since the natural light coming through the sliding doors wasn’t enough, we took this session outside and we worked up a sweat!  We also found that O enjoys being outdoors (and naked!).  We worked on grabbing some pictures of him trying to hold his head up and some of the family.  Perfect for this shoot!

G Family, thank you for always making me laugh and keeping me entertained!  Who knows?  Maybe I’ll have one of you working for me one of these days! ;-)

Miss L | Nashville Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Sunday afternoon, my good friend Michelle came over and we set up camp in the studio to take some newborn shots.  Michelle and I have known each other for years… since we both started planning our weddings together in 2003.  My how time flies.  Her oldest daughter is about a year older than Mia and they had a blast riding the Gator around the yard and having a picnic on the screened porch.  Gotta love girls!

Her newest addition, Miss Lauren, was born with a head full of hair but not as much as her big sister Rachel had.  I remember meeting Rachel in the hospital after she was born and thinking that she had enough hair to put into a ponytail!  I don’t know what it’s like to birth children with hair so it was a real treat to photograph Lauren and her head full of hair!

Without further ado, meet Miss L!

When Michelle went inside to change Lauren, I told Rachel we’d snap a few of her to surprise her mommy! She sat down and this is the pose she struck for me! A future model in the making, I believe!

Oh, and since Mia begged for a picture of her and Rachel, I’ll include one of them, too…. cookie crumbs on the face and all! :)

I’m Live! :)

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Well, it’s official.  My blog is going “live.”  I’ve been putting it off simply because I still have some minor tweaks I need to make (a new header, etc) but I’m okay with that for now.  I hope you will all bookmark my new site and follow me! :)   In honor of my new blogsite, I thought I’d repost a few older pictures from sessions from my old blog (and I’ll throw in a few new ones, too!).  I hope you enjoy! :)

I just love the classic look of this one! I get many people asking where they can find a simple white dress like this for pictures. It’s a Remember Nyugen dress and I adore it!

6 Days Old | Nashville Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Yesterday, I got to meet Mr. D. He is a hunk of cuteness and rolls. His cheeks are kissable and as always, I’m just amazed by babies with hair. I do not breed children with hair (until the age of at least 2). D is a big boy, weighing in at over 9 pounds and was an angel. He slept well the first part of the shoot and then decided he’d had enough and was finished with his first photo shoot.

Thank you, T Family for letting me capture D’s first week. You truly have an adorable baby on your hands and Big Sister E is sure a lucky girl!

Enjoy your sneak peek!

Miss M | Nashville Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

There is something about the smell of newborns.  It’s just heavenly.  Miss M had that smell today.  I could have sniffed her hair all afternoon.  It’s sad that Elaina is loosing that newborn smell… at 6 months.  *sigh*

Today, I visited a great coworker who finally had her precious baby girl a week ago.  It’s just amazing to see someone that I see daily grow into motherhood so beautifully.  Motherhood looks great on K and it’s was so wonderful to see her with Miss M today.  They already have a bond of mother and daughter that will continue to grow strong.  Seeing K with her mom and sister today, also solidified the excitement I have for my two girls.  I often dream of what us three girls will do together and what it will be like when they are teenagers or when they have children of their own.  I hope to be as close to my girls as K’s mom is to her and her sister.

K’s mother said today that she sees it takes special patience to be a newborn photographer.  What goes on behind the scenes of a newborn shoot would amaze some of you.  For a few pictures, it usually takes 3-4 hours.  In that time frame, there are usually 4 dirty diapers (on average– remember they are usually naked and something about the “free” feeling must bring it out in the babies), at least 1-2 feedings, and a ton of time spend shoooing and patting a baby until the “deep sleep” kicks in.  It does take patience.  Lots of patience…. but, the outcome is so worth it.  Who wouldn’t want to have a snapshot of the newborn stage of their child.  There is an innocence you just don’t get back.

T Family, I hope you enjoy your sneak peak.  Thank you so much for allowing me into your home and giving me the opportunity to provide you with photos from this special moment in your life.

Baby Boy | Nashville Hendersonville TN Newborn Photographer

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

This afternoon, I spent this beautiful day photographing a super cute newborn. Mr. O was incredibly curious as to what I was doing and would often keep one eye open while pretending to sleep! Too adorable.

Mr. O is two weeks old and his parents are already completely smitten with him. Isn’t that the way it should be?? The love this family has for each other is immediately evident when walking in the door.

Thank you, G Family for allowing me to capture this special moment in your lives! Enjoy your Sneak Peak!
